Translators Without Borders – Seeks Bangla Translators

As you may have seen, Translators without Borders is working with local responders in the Chittagong area of Bangladesh to respond to the Rohingya refugee crisis. Language barriers between newly arrived refugees and emergency responders are making relief efforts very difficult, and there is an urgent need to build capacity to communicate in local languages so that those affected get the assistance they need in a language they understand. Our team is in Cox’s Bazar, and we are working to grow the community (both in-country and remote teams) so that responding organizations have resources from which to draw when reaching out to the Rohingya people in the camps. TWB urgently seeks Bangla translators to join a remote team supporting aid organizations. We also need speakers of Burmese, Rohingya and Chittagong languages. Would it be possible to put the word out to the ITI network, please? People can email crisis@translatorswithoutborders.org to apply.
