New industry association formed for companies providing language services
On 1-3 August ten of Australia and NEW ZEALAND’s leading Language Service Providers gathered in Brisbane to become founding members of the new industry association, the Australasian Association of Language Companies Inc. (AALC).
After much preparation and anticipation, the long awaited and much needed association was founded.
The AALC aims to uphold and support the professional interests, status and rights of all language companies, to promote and advance the important role of language services, provide an important forum for exchange of information, promote fair competition between all language companies and explore and develop industry best practices. It makes for exciting times for the industry and its stakeholders.
The AALC board consists of the President, Tea Dietterich (2M Language Services), Vice President Australia, Jerzy Brodzki (Translators International), Vice President NZ, Hagen Issell (NZTC International), Secretary Ari Pappas (On Call), Treasurer Rona Zhang (Auschina Translation) as well as Adrienne Meakin (LOTE Marketing), George Bisas (VITS), Eva Hussain (Polaron) and Georgiana Poulter (IML).
Any language company interested in membership is welcome to apply.
